The Power of Collective Action: Shifting the Leadership Culture
Most leadership journeys begin with an emphasis on self—self-discovery, self-development, self-mastering, and self-actualization. When we shift our focus to link with others, our scope of influence expands outward. In that effort, we reorient ourselves towards a dynamic network of leaders emboldened by a shared purpose. The 12th Annual HIGHER Ground Women’s Leadership Conference examines the experiences of all women on the personal and professional spectrum by providing a space where we can translate the contributions of self to wider society. This year’s theme, The Power of Collective Action: Shifting the Leadership Culture, provides a game plan for capitalizing on our unique strengths for communal action. Changing the leadership culture requires challenging traditional interpretations of leadership. Together, we aim to move from a singular focus of individual development to a more global strategy that builds equity, access, and advancement for all—whether in the workplace, our homes, or our communities. With an intentionality to leverage the power of our connectedness, we move toward the benefits of a collective being.
