Build Your Own Website

Learn the basic skills to build your own website using WordPress. This course will cover web hosting concepts and principles including managing your own domain, file transfer protocol (FTP), mySQL and more. Explore the foundations of the most popular content management system on earth, WordPress, including basic tools such as posts, pages, the appearance panel, the customize panel, plugins and more. You’ll build a sample site in class and leave with the skills to further customize it to fit your goals.

- Requires basic computer skills.
- Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
- This class runs from 1 PM – 4 PM Saturday and Sunday.
About the Instructor
Brandon O’Neill
Brandon O’Neill is a graphic designer, musician, and Richmond native. He is a graduate of James Madison University where he received a B.A. in Media, Art and Design with a minor in Music Industry. He’s worked for a variety of non-profits in Richmond and is excited to help further the mission of VisArts through graphic design. He’s passionate about dogs, Chipotle, games (check out the We’re Bad At Games podcast!) and playing/performing/recording rock music as Wine & Warpaint.
