February 15, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am
About the speaker
Paul moved to Richmond in 2009 to attend University of Richmond’s School of Continuing Studies to get a teaching license. A lover of languages (speaking Spanish and Greek, and is of Greek heritage) and a passion for learning new things, especially as it relates to new cultures, drove him enter in the teaching profession.
After two years in Henrico County teaching Spanish, Paul started King of Pops, a gourmet popsicle company that was founded in Atlanta by friends he met at University of Georgia. Starting with a single pop cart and a bunch of delicious flavors in 2012, the King of Pops in Richmond grew to have a dozen carts, 3 full time employees, and over 30 part time employees by 2018.
Currently, he is a freelance marketer and small business coach working with businesses on marketing strategies and helping business owners work smarter and manage better.
Paul describes himself as at times, a little shy and reserved with moments of monumental risk taking, such as studying abroad in Greece for 2 semesters in college, moving to NYC to work for 8 months (“just because it would be cool”), skydiving despite a fear of heights, quitting a steady teaching job to work on a start-up business, and then leaving the now stable, profitable start-up business to pursue a new career path.
