MakerEd brainstorm meeting

Let’s meet to discuss what we want to get out of a group like this. Dr. Eve Torrence from Randolph Macon has agreed to join us for an official meetup of the group to discuss how she uses making (specifically origami and crochet) in her math classes (date TBD).

Some possible avenues for discussion for this meeting: Has “making” been too narrowly defined in an education context? Art teachers, what ideas do you have for teachers of other disciplines? Makerspaces–guiding principles, best practices, buy-in? Community outreach in making through service projects, school partnerships, etc.? THERE WILL BE SNACKS AND COFFEE.
