VCU MASSEY APPETIZERS & ADVOCACY
January 30, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Spend the evening with the Massey Alliance, learning more about palliative care from Danielle Noreika, MD, Medical Director of the Inpatient Palliative Care Services and Jessica Gray, R.N., Nurse Manager of the Palliative Care Unit.
Appetizers & Advocacy is FREE, but we ask that you register through the ticket link prior to the event. There will be complimentary appetizers with a cash bar available.
VCU Massey Cancer Center is an international award-winning pioneer in palliative care; which is care that relieves suffering of the critically ill by managing pain and symptoms and addressing psychological, emotional and spiritual needs.
You will also have the opportunity to meet special guests Donna Bonelli, a spouse of a Palliative Care patient and Renny, the Palliative Care Unit Therapy Dog.
We encourage guests to bring a donation to support our Palliative Care Therapy Dog, Renny. We are collecting items such as:
– Dog toothbrushes (The actual tooth brushes, not the ones worn on the finger)
– “The Stuff for Dogs” leave-in conditioner
– Dog ear cleaner
– Poop bags
– Blue Buffalo Wilderness (it is grain free) food. Renny goes through about 1 large bag every 6 weeks.
– Guillotine-type nail trimmer
– Gift Cards to PetValu in Short Pump, as that’s where Renny get a bath each month or PetSmart.
– Costumes! Renny would LOVE to own festive costumes for the 4th of July, Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day. Please find a costume that fits a 54 pound dog.
