A Brief History of McDonald's In Richmond
Dr. Tiffany Jana In Forbes
McDonald's New Donut Sticks are Nikki-Dee Approved!
In May 1963, a Times-Dispatch report announced that the first McDonald’s drive-in restaurants were coming to Richmond. The very first McDonald’s in Richmond was constructed at 5520 W. Broad St. —which is still a McDonald's today. Read the full story here.
"The field started as social justice. It was about doing the right thing. With evidence that a diverse workforce improves the bottom line, the field has grown in importance. Now it’s a business imperative."
Her forecast: "The roads will be slick hut the donuts will be hot!"

Social media marketer settles down in Shockoe
Young and dynamic, these are the people building a new Richmond before our eyes.
"The social media marketer and blogger behind TFB Agency and Tiramisu for Breakfast is better known around town for the enthusiasm and laughter she brings to her work. But when she’s not cracking jokes and connecting with clients, the 30-year-old does what she describes as both fun but also the one thing that puts a serious look on her face: gymnastics."
After more than a year meeting with clients at area coffee shops and cafés, Christina Dick is setting up an office for her TFB Agency in The Superior Building at 1901 E. Franklin St.

VCU celebrates its top 10 graduates of the last decade
"Christina Dick, Community Manager at The Martin Agency and 2010 VCU Mass Communications alum (concentration in strategic advertising), does the social reporting for GEICO, taking trips with the gecko to gather content for the client's Facebook page."
"Christina’s kind of a social butterfly around RVA, she’s a social recruiter by day, member of several boards and organizations, adult gymnastics participant, and spends her spare time with Tiramisu for Breakfast."
"The awards celebrate alumni who have earned their first VCU degree within the past 10 years and who have enjoyed remarkable professional success, made important contributions to their community and/or loyally supported the university."
